ME NOW...

i am still living in italy but a lot has changed. 1: my favorite activity is not jump roping anymore...

2: i no longer am 12 years old

3: and i now have a facebook account :)

4: lots more

but it's still me in there somewhere! i now speak FLUENT italian and my grades are getting better. Next year i will be in high school. In italy you have to pick a specific (like a specialized school: artistic, linguistic, classical, scientific, ecc...). i chose artistic because the other ones are really hard and i can't take that kind of pressure! also at this school they have lessons on fashion and photography :) (if you have in iphone get instagramm if you like photography and follow me @gigifinta) soon it will be easter and i am going off to paris :) when we get back i have one day in italy then i leave for a class trip in france, so why bother unpacking! :) this year (well last 2011) both my grandparents died and i have been very nostalgic ever since :( i miss them... hope they find the cure for cancer and MDS soon! and good luck if you have it! (live your life to the fullest)!!! i want to move back to america as well, i miss my home, speaking of homes i don't even know where mine is anymore... we have a small apartment with four people living in it near the outskirts of florence. i want my own room as well! don't get me wrong i love my sister! but a fourteen old girl needs her personal space and room! if you are reading this you probably like to surf the web a lot because this is not a very popular blog! but if you've made it this far it means that my writing down lot's of random personal stuff is interesting if it is pleas leave a comment or like it to let me know :)

Jewel Comes to Florence

This is me and my friend Jewel. Jewel was in my class when we lived in St. Thomas. She was here in Florence for a few days this summer. She spent the night at my house and we did facials!

Mr. Spark's Opti Rockstars

This is McKenzie, Me, Julia and Gillian about to go out to our boats for the Powder Puff Regatta. We were in the motorboat which was really fun - my instructor had to go really fast to get the water out because the plug was broken. The next picture is us back at the club after the races. We did so well at the races that Mr Spark (the head instructor) called us all his "rockstars". The other picture is of me sailing in one of the races.

McKenzie

This is my cousin McKenzie and me behind her. We were getting ready for the Powder Puff Regatta. I won sixth place at the regatta. It was our first Opti regatta ever.

Clotilde and Olesia

This is me and Alice at our friends Clo and Olesia's house in San Donato in Collina. The right one is Clo and the left one is Olesia. They live in Florence in the winter, but they live in the country in San Donato (about half an hour away) in the summer.

Bike riding with Valentina

This is me bike riding with my friend Valentina in Piazza Santa Croce. Valentina goes to school with me. She's one grade higher than me, but she is the same age as me. Me and Valentina are very good friends and like to play together after school in the piazza on the bikes (and we ride on her mom's bike together). Her nickname is Vale (you say it "val-ay").

My Friend Anna

My friend Anna came here with a school group, her mom, her friend Sue and her sister Rosy. She was here for about 3 months. She did homeschooling while she was here.

We met her when we were looking through our window at the apartment next door (my mom saw her first, I was getting out of the bathtub!). We became good friends and anytime I wanted to talk to her, I would just open the window and blow my whistle for her.

The night before she was leaving Florence to go back to her house in Minnesota, she came over to our house for dinner. When she got back to her apartment that night, I blew my whistle for her and waved goodbye! Now every time I look out that window I am sad. I miss her!

Buon Compleanno a Mio Nonno!

Today is my grandfather's birthday - I call him Bapoo. I picked a poem out of my poetry book for his birthday present. I am going to post it here and I am going to call him and read it to him. The first poem I picked out, and the second one my sister, Alice, picked out.

Earrings

I got my ears pierced on Saturday. My earrings are green diamonds, but on December 1st I can change them into the earrings that I got for my birthday that are ladybugs. I have to clean my ears every night with a special lotion and I have to twist my earrings around so they don't get stuck. I can even twist them around in school without putting the liquid on them. My neighbor Janis is going to get me some other earrings for a birthday present. Since we told her about my birthday too late, she didn't have a chance to get me a present yet, so when she heard I got my ears pierced she said she would take me out to get new earrings for a present.

Sleepover Party!!

Friday, November 10th, was my birthday and i had a sleepover party. I had six girls over. I got lots of presents and a pair of ladybug earrings. We covered the living room floor with mattresses and we slept there. The next morning we did gymnastics on the mattresses too. Then me and two other girls got under a blanket, and we asked some of the other girls if they could cover us with every single blanket that we had. It was fun. We had pizza for dinner and crepes with nutella for breakfast. My birthday cake was vanilla with pink icing and decorated with marshmallow fruits with yucky jelly inside of them. All of the other girls thought that it was yucky too. The End.
